'Nobody’s born a hero. Farewell to a hero' First two episodes tell the story of the highest titles in the Soviet Union. For more than 57 years almost 12 000 people became the Heroes of the Soviet Union. Who were these men? The episodes dedicated to few USSR Heroes: Anatoly Lyapidevsky, Arnold Mery, Maria Oktyabrskaya, Yury Babansky, Alexander Koryavin, and Leonid Solodkov. There was one impostor Hero as well… 'Stakhanov true story' The final episode tells the story of the second highest title in the Soviet Union. This title is known as Socialism Labor Hero. Many people in Russia associate this title with Alexey Stakhanov who was the working class hero in the 1930’s. But only few know that Stakhanov received his award only in 1970, 35 years after his epic of heroism. The first Socialism Labor Hero was Joseph Stalin. His Golden Socialism Labor Hero Star was the only award he wear. During the title’s history which lasted 50 years more than 20 000 people of many professions were awarded the Golden Socialism Labor Hero Star.
